As an Army Brat, I grew up all over the world—Texas, North Carolina, California, Japan, Alabama, Virginia, New York, Germany and the list goes on. I think all that moving around made a positive impact on me because it taught me to relate well with people no matter whom they were or what their backgrounds were.
I always thought that I would become an actress one day and I even majored in Drama at the University of Virginia (with a double minor in economics and German—just to be safe). Since my heritage is a mix of German and Irish and arguing is just in my blood, I thought Law would be a natural next step. So I pursued my J.D. at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. After graduating in 2004, I went to the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida to get my LL.M in Taxation. I am a member of The TN Bar Association, The NY Bar Association, The Florida Bar Association and The American Bar Association.
Helping people plan their estates is something that gives me great satisfaction. I have first-hand experience at what can happen when you don’t plan ahead as my family went through some difficulty with that. When I saw what my loved ones went through I knew that I wanted to do something to prevent problems for others. I feel that the most important thing people can do is enjoy their lives, live their days to the fullest and be open to every possibility that comes their way—I have always lived my life that way and maintained a positive outlook all along. My goal is to ensure that when people turn to me for help I give them the best possible guidance, support and knowledge to construct an estate plan or will that will satisfy them fully and give them peace of mind that their heirs will be taken care of.
I love my job and being involved with so many interesting people—and even though I’m glad I decided to become a Lawyer and not an actress, I still enjoy a good drama—when I’m not working I spend my free time going to the Theater and the Opera, traveling, watching and playing sports, wakeboarding, skiing and boating. Life is thrilling and I think we all need to enjoy the ride.
